Following a live bet

What you see when you open a bet from the Bet overview — the market and line history before tip-off, the result bar, live score, and line score once a game is under way, and the final score and result once it settles.

Opening a bet

Tap any bet in the Bet overview to open its detail view. What it shows adapts to where the bet is in its life — before the game, during it, and after — so you always see the most useful thing for the moment. At the top you will find the bet's win probability, what you stand to win, and your stake.

Before the game: market and history

For a bet whose game has not started yet, the detail view is about the price. You get two views you can toggle between:

  • The current market for your selection across books, so you can see how the number you took stacks up against the rest right now. This is the same market table described in Market view.
  • The bet's line history — how the price has moved over time, so you can see which way it has been drifting since you placed it. See Line history for how to read it.

A refresh control re-pulls the latest prices on demand.

During the game: are you winning right now

Once a game is under way, the detail view shifts to tracking the result live.

The result bar

For bets tied to a trackable stat — a player's points, a team total, and so on — a result bar shows your bet's line marked on a single track with the current value sitting on it. Green means the bet is currently on track, red means it is not, and neutral means it is still up for grabs. It is the fastest way to answer "am I winning this right now" without reading a box score. The value updates on its own roughly every 30 seconds while you have the bet open, so you can watch a player prop fill in toward its number in real time.

The live scoreboard

When SmartStake has a live feed for the matchup, the detail view also shows the live scoreboard — the running score, the period or inning, and sport-specific state like the count and bases, down and distance, or the latest goal, plus the period-by-period line score (innings for baseball, quarters or halves for basketball and football, periods for hockey, sets for tennis, halves for soccer). It refreshes on its own about every 30 seconds while you have the bet open. This is the same live game system used across the app; for the full sport-by-sport breakdown of what each one shows, see the live game status section of the Positive EV table guide.

Live data never grades your bet

Everything in the live view — the score and the result bar — is there to keep you in the loop. It never decides whether a bet wins or loses. Grading is handled separately; see Bet grading and outcomes.

After the game

Once a bet settles, its outcome is graded and folded into your settled results. For supported leagues — MLB, the NBA and WNBA, men's college basketball, the NFL and college football, the NHL, men's and women's tennis, and the World Cup — the detail view re-pulls the game's official result, so a settled bet still shows the final score, the period-by-period line score (innings for baseball, quarters or halves for basketball and football, periods for hockey, sets for tennis, halves for soccer), a result bar with your realized number marked against your line, and, where the feed provides it, the deciding play — even hours or days after it ended. If your player never got into the game, it says so and the bet is treated as a push.

Some settled bets — leagues we do not re-pull yet, or markets with no single trackable number — have nothing to plot, and the detail view simply shows the matchup without a result panel. Either way the bet graded normally; this view never decides the outcome.

Closing line value

Once a bet has settled, its detail view also shows its closing line value (CLV) — how the price you took compares to where the line closed, expressed as an expected-value percentage against the no-vig fair closing odds. A positive number means you beat the close; it sits alongside your odds and the closing odds so you can see the gap directly. If the market wasn't captured — an untracked league, or a bet placed after kickoff — it reads "—" instead of a number. See Closing line value for how CLV is measured and where else it appears.

  • Odds, prices, expected value, conversion rates, and profit figures shown are estimates based on the last data we retrieved. They can change at any time — confirm the current price at the book before you bet, as odds may move and entry errors can occur.
